Inger Wieringa, France
MaxiCoffee
Please tell us a little about yourself:
I am a Dutch competing in the French Championships, because I moved almost 5 years ago to France. Currently I am working for MaxiCoffee, which is a French company specializing in coffee and all things related (e-shop, coffee machines, coffee education). My role inside the company is to train (new) coffee professionals in Paris, where you can find one of our coffee schools.
3 or 4 years ago I decided to challenge myself and compete in the French Latte Art Championships. I think I like to push myself and my boundaries. Fun fact about me, I already competed in 2 World Cups in Womens' Baseball. So I think, somewhere, competing gives me a goal to train hard and improve my skills.
What are you excited to do while you are in Geneva?
Enjoy the WOC because it will be my first one! I am looking forward to see the other championships as well, as well as meeting a lot of inspiring coffee professionals. And of course, try to also enjoy the city if there is any time left.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I like to be creative; crafting, painting, making jewelery. And a lot of my free time is also going to the care of my plants!
Oh and I love baseball!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
I would like to thank MaxiCoffee for all the support that they gave me. Also, UmPaul and Rora with whom I was able to train and create latte art patterns.
But most importantly I would like to thank Marco and Andrea, who have been there every step of the way!!
