Cafe Regina

Please tell us a little about yourself:

I started working in coffee 11 years ago in order to meet people and learn new skills. A year into it I competed in the National Latte Art Competition. Now I own a coffee shop called Café Regina, located in San Juan, PR. I haven’t competed in 10 years but four of my teammates and I signed up for the National Cup Tasters Competition this year in hopes of honing our sensory analysis skills and stepping out of our comfort zone a bit.

What are you excited to do while you are in Geneva?

Before I worked in coffee I sold and aged cheese at a cheese shop in NYC so I am excited to try all the amazing alpine cheeses here. Im really hoping I can take a day trip to visit the Jura Valley in France, my favorite wine is from there!

What are your interests outside of coffee?

Food & cooking is a large part of my life, my partner & I are both chefs. We traveling & visiting new cafes/restaurants. I have two pitbulls at home, Uva & Txako. I really love dogs! I was a competitive swimmer all my life, so I'm really passionate about swimming and competing.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank?

I'd like to thank my team at Regina for always pushing me to grow, Kathy Muir and everyone who made the National Cup Tasters Competition possible, my partner and family, and my community in Puerto Rico for accepting and supporting me and my business.
