Niklas Casado Bernal, Germany
Gentle Madness
Please tell us a little about yourself:
I’ve been competing for the past four years, mainly in the Brewers Cup and Barista Championship. This year was my first time competing in the Latte Art discipline at the national level and I’m incredibly proud that it led to my first ever qualification for the World Stage.
I only started learning Latte Art in January this year while I was in Malaysia for two months, starting completely from zero. What we achieved at the German Nationals is a testament to the power of dedication, consistent effort, and pushing our limits.
Currently, I work independently as a barista and trainer, collaborating with cafés and professionals across different countries.
What are you excited to do while you are in Geneva?
Jumping into the crystal clear water of the river Rhone in La Jonction, having Ice Cream in Gelatomania and of course an amazing Swiss Cheese Fondue.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Going into nature like deep green jungle and rainforest or mountains.
Love to grab a horse and ride through open nature.
Exploring new places and enjoy with the people moments anywhere in the world.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
My whole Competition Team that stands behind me. Without them I wouldn’t stand there.
