STORY Coffee Roasters

Please tell us a little about yourself:

I'm the founder and co-owner of STORY coffee roasters in Warsaw. We opened the roastery in 2017. I wear a lot of hats at the roastery, but my main focus is on the coffee from start to finish—from selection to roasting to quality. I also try to support the rising coffee scene in Poland by judging our local competitions. I've been involved in coffee since 2008. But it was in 2012 that I got into specialty coffee, and in 2014 I decided that coffee would be more than just a passion for me—it would be a way of life. My first experiences with coffee were in Bari, a city in the south of Italy where I spent some time. There, I learned about the culture of espresso drinking. But it was in Poland that I was truly fascinated by the coffee scene and had the chance to fall in love with coffee all over again. For me, coffee is first and foremost about people, and through coffee, I met some truly wonderful people from all over the world.

What are you excited to do while you are in Houston?

I'm heading to Houston for the first time, so I'm looking forward to experiencing the local culture, checking out some cafes and roasters.

I like to eat well, so I'll be checking out a few restaurants. I'm also planning to visit the Gulf of Mexico and the city of Austin. During one of my coffee trips to Brazil, I met Daniel from Casa Brasil. He told me it's a great city, so I'll have to check it out and visit Daniel, of course!

What are your interests outside of coffee?

Good food! Wine and Football.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank?

I'd like to start by thanking my wife! I'd also like to thank my colleagues from STORY coffee roasters, and the Polish branch of the SCA, which, as every year, has put together a great competition.
