Announcing the Release of the 2026 World Coffee in Good Spirits and World Coffee Roasting Championships Rules and Regulations

The World Coffee Championships (WCC) is pleased to announce the publication of the 2026 World Coffee in Good Spirits (WCIGS) and World Coffee Roasting Championships (WCRC) Rules and Regulations, establishing the framework for the next edition of these globally recognized competitions. The 2026 WCIGS and WCRC will take place at World of Coffee Brussels, June 25–27, 2026, at Brussels Expo in Brussels, Belgium.

World of Coffee Brussels will host three highly technical competitions, each celebrating a different part of the specialty coffee value chain. The World Coffee Roasting Championship honors excellence in roast profiling and production skill, while the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship showcases flavor innovation at the intersection of coffee and mixology. The 2026 World Brewers Cup will also take place in Brussels, spotlighting manual brewing mastery and compelling storytelling. Together, these events make Brussels a global gathering point for coffee professionals, champions, and enthusiasts. Learn more and register to attend or exhibit at europe.worldofcoffee.org.

The 2026 WCIGS Rules clarify on-stage conduct terms, redefine ingredients to include ice, and adapt scoresheets to support clearer judging flow. The 2026 WCRC Rules adjust coffee submission and green coffee quantities to better align with production roaster capacities, expand eligible roasting machine sizes, and refine tie-breaks and penalties. In both cases, the appeals process is aligned to be consistent with the Code of Conduct, across all World Coffee Championships. These updates reflect WCC’s ongoing commitment to transparency, integrity, and the continued evolution of global coffee competition standards.
