Please tell us a little about yourself:
I’m a Guatemalan barista passionate about specialty coffee, trained as a roaster and cupper, with the strong belief that a single cup of coffee can tell stories, create opportunities, and change lives. I’ve been drinking coffee since I was 3 years old, and thanks to my brother, I began my journey as a barista 7 years ago. This is my second year competing, and I’m truly happy to be here.
What are you excited to do while you are in Milan?
I am very excited about food, visiting San Siro, churches and why not fashion.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I love soccer, hiking, music, poetry, art, and food.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I haven’t walked this path alone, and today I want to deeply thank those who have been an essential part of this journey. To my family, who have stood by me every step of the way, believing in me from the very beginning. To my friends — a priceless treasure that coffee brought into my life — who have supported me with joy, advice, and loyalty. To my girlfriend, who inspires me every day and has been my source of strength through the toughest moments. To my fellow coffee professionals, who share this passion and push me to keep growing. To the coffee-producing families who have trusted me, sharing their work, their stories, and their coffee with generosity and hope. To the customers who, cup by cup, have become great friends. And to every Guatemalan who has supported me without even knowing me, but who has embraced this dream as if it were their own. I carry each of you with me in this journey, with deep gratitude and pride. Thank you for being part of this adventure!
