Teija Lublinkhof

Teija is originally from Finland, she worked in London for two years before moving to Zambia in 2000. For over twelve years Teija has worked in the coffee industry in Zambia, initially as coffee taster and Coffee Quality and Marketing Manager at Munali Coffee. Once Munali Coffee got their first roasting plant, she helped to develop the Munali Coffee brand locally, getting Zambian coffee to the cafés, restaurants, and hotels in Lusaka, and the rest of Zambia. She also was involved in developing the international market for the brand.

In 2007, Teija started her own roasting company, Marika’s Coffee, in Lusaka. She has established Marika’s as a strong local brand which also provides coffee equipment, barista training, and maintenance. She also roasts for Munali Coffee as well as the Peaberry Coffee Brand—importing high quality single origin coffees.

Teija started the Zambia National Barista Championship together with Zambia Coffee Growers Association in 2007. She certified as a WBC judge for first time in 2009, and has been judging for the World Coffee Championships ever since. She is a Certified WLAC & WCIGS Judge, and a WCC Representative since 2014.

Teija chaired Zambia Coffee Growers Association from 2010 to 2014, and has been a Vice Chair of the board. She also is a board member of African Fine Coffee Association (AFCA) as well as Coffee Board of Zambia.
