Competitors from around the globe will gather for the first World Coffee Championship of 2025, happening April 24-27 at the Houston World Coffee Championships (WCC), staged at the 2025 Specialty Coffee Expo. The event includes the 2025 World Coffee Roasting Championship.

The WCCs are annual events that are the culmination of local and regional events, hosted by sanctioned Competition Bodies around the globe. Between competitors, there’s a chance to sample international specialty roasters at the WCC Brew Bar.

World Coffee Roasting Championship
The World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC) recognizes excellence in coffee roasting, evaluating competitors on their coffee evaluation, preparation, blending, and roasting skills. In this three-stage event, competitors are evaluated on their performance evaluating the quality of green coffee (coffee grading), developing a roasting profile that best accentuates the desirable characteristics of that coffee, and on the ultimate cup quality of coffees roasted. Certified Judges score competitors on dozens of criteria covering pre-roasting preparation and production roasting skills.
Brew Bar
Stationed right next to the WCRC Stage, the WCC Brew Bar is a dedicated space where attendees can enjoy expertly crafted coffees, brewed by our amazing WCC Volunteers using top-quality beans and a wide range of brewing methods. Whether you need a quick caffeine boost or want to explore unique flavors, this is the perfect spot to refuel and recharge during this energy-filled event!
