Please tell us a little about yourself:
I’m Daniel Vaz, a Brazilian barista and roaster, and the founder of Five Roasters Cafés Especiais. My work is driven by curiosity, innovation, and a deep respect for the people behind every coffee.
I’m excited to represent Brazil and contribute to the evolution of coffee while continuing to learn from producers, professionals, and coffee communities around the world.
What are you excited to do while you visit the Panama city?
I’m excited to experience the local culture, explore the city, and connect with the local coffee community. I’m also looking forward to meeting coffee professionals from around the world, sharing experiences, and discovering new perspectives on specialty coffee.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Outside of coffee, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, cooking, and exploring the outdoors. I’m also passionate about sports and competition, which have taught me discipline, focus, and the importance of constantly challenging myself.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
I would like to thank my family, my team, and all the people who have supported me throughout this journey. I’m especially grateful to the BSCA and the entire Brazilian coffee community for their support and for everything they do to strengthen and promote Brazilian specialty coffee. I’m also deeply grateful to the producers and coffee professionals who have shared their knowledge with me. Preparing for this competition has been a collective journey, and every person who contributed has helped me become a better barista and coffee professional. It is an honor to represent Brazil on the world stage.
