Please tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Nicolas, and I’m the 2025 Bolivian Barista Champion. I own and manage specialty coffee businesses in Bolivia, where I focus on roasting, coffee education, and creating meaningful coffee experiences. Coffee has given me the opportunity to connect with producers, competitors, and professionals from all over the world, and I’m passionate about sharing that journey with others through social media and education. I started competing because I wanted to push myself beyond making great coffee and truly understand every part of the craft. Outside of competitions, I enjoy experimenting with brewing, roasting, and finding new ways to make specialty coffee more accessible in my country.
What are you excited to do while you visit the Panama city?
I’m excited to experience the local coffee culture, visit cafés, roasteries Panamanian friends and learn from people who are shaping the future of specialty coffee. Competitions are inspiring, but one of the best parts is connecting with fellow coffee professionals, exchanging ideas, and building friendships from around the world. I’m also looking forward to representing Bolivia and sharing more about the incredible coffees our country has to offer.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Outside of coffee, I enjoy traveling, exploring new cultures, and creating content that inspires others to learn. I’m naturally curious, so I love discovering new ideas, whether they’re related to business, science, marketing or creativity. I also enjoy building brands and finding ways to create memorable experiences for people.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
Above all, I would like to thank my friend and business partner, Alejandra. Since we started Alquimia together, we’ve become much more than business partners—we’ve become a true team. We constantly support, challenge, and inspire each other to keep improving, and her encouragement has been an essential part of my journey. I would also like to thank my entire team, my coaches, and everyone who has believed in me and contributed to my preparation. This journey has never been a solo effort.
