Please tell us a little about yourself:
I entered the coffee industry through an open cupping hosted by a small local roastery. At the end of the session, they held a mini Cup Tasters competition - and I won. That moment energized me so deeply that it sparked a dream: first to win a real championship, and ultimately to stand on - and win - the world stage.
Since then, coffee has become both my profession and my passion. I've worked across multiple roles in the industry, continually refining my sensory skills and deepening my understanding of coffee.
I've been competing for five years now, and reaching the world stage has always been one of my biggest goals. This opportunity feels especially meaningful after a long and challenging journey. Even after winning the Turkish National Cup Tasters Championship, I had to wait two years to compete at Worlds due to visa issues.
After those two years of uncertainty, I'm more thrilled and grateful than ever to finally be here.
What are you excited to do while you visit the WCC city?
This will be my first time in Bangkok and in Asia so I'm incredibly excited to explore the local culture. I'm especially looking forward to trying Thai cuisine, visiting local coffee shops, and experiencing the unique energy and spirit of the city.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Outside of coffee, I'm passionate about cinema and music. I try not to miss film festivals and interesting live music events whenever 1 can. Lately, I've been watching ER, created by Michael Crichton, and I'm absolutely fascinated by it. Musically, I've been listening a lot to Deftones and Fontaines D.C for the last few months
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
First and foremost, I would like to thank my family for their constant support and for helping me achieve everything I have so far. I'm also deeply grateful to my friends and to everyone who has encouraged me and helped me grow along the way.
Support means everything, and I feel fortunate to have always had it in my life.
