The Roast Things Coffee Roaster
Please tell us a little about yourself:
Hi! My name is Jin, I am the co-founder of The Roast Things Coffee Roaster, we are a specialty coffee roaster based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. I have been competing since 2014 and its my first time representing Malaysia.
Prior to starting the roastery, I attended the Q-grader certification as my foundation into the coffee industry. During the certification program, I particularly found the Triangulation segment the most interesting one. Ever since, I have been very much into the Cup Tasters competition format.
What are you excited to do while you visit the WCC city?
Amazing fooddd!
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Stationaries, a good book, tea and low intervention wine
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
I would like to express gratitude to MSCA for making cup tasters happen 2 years ago. I have been waiting for this opportunity since my first cup tasters competition experience in 2014.
Without MSCA, I wont be given the opportunity to represent Malaysia.
Second, I wish to also thank all my family members who has shown tremendous support at many levels since my first day entering the coffee industry.
Last but not least, I wish to also express my deepest gratitude to my co-founder, Ving, also plays role as my coach in preparation for this competition. All her work usually gets unnoticed but is foundational to my achievements in this industry and our roastery.
