Please tell us a little about yourself:
I work at Pust Kaffebar in Oslo, Norway. I competed for the first time last year and got second in the Norwegian championship. I signed up for fun and the experience, before I competed had only done triangular cupping once. The host forgot my name and called me Karla, and that's where my very unserious coffee account started. I've learned that it's important to jump into things and try to have fun. Winning this years Norwegian championship was not expected and I'm super exited!
What are you excited to do while you visit the WCC city?
Meet new people, drink coffee and talk about coffee! And of course have some fun and se Bangkok
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I have lots of different hobbies. I love spending time with my friends, snowboarding, art, being outside in the beautiful Norwegian nature for example!
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
I would love to thank my boss Irene. She was the one who encouraged me to compete last year and made me discover cup tasters championship. She's always by my side supporting me and that means a lot. I would also thank Damion Bialek, who won the Norwegian cup tasters last year. In stead of seeing me as a huge competitor he as invited me to multiple cuppings with him to become better.
