Marlon Rojas Perez, Colombia
La Reserva Coffee
Please tell us a little about yourself:
Hello, I’m Marlon Rojas, co-founder of La Reserva Coffee and a third-generation coffee grower in my family. The COVID pandemic brought me back to the coffee world, where I have spent the past four years working with specialty coffee, after stepping away to pursue a career as a pilot. Over these years, coffee has become a passion, a dream, and a life project. I have had the chance to learn and explore so much about this fascinating industry. Additionally, I’ve been competing in national championships in my country for four years, a journey that started out of curiosity and turned into a meaningful hobby. Today, I feel proud, excited, and honored to represent the 540,000 coffee-growing families in Colombia. I’m eager to enjoy every moment of this event, meet people who share a passion for coffee, discover new places, and keep learning. This truly makes me happy.
What are you excited to do while you are in Geneva?
I’m excited to visit Switzerland and admire its beautiful landscapes, such as Mont Blanc, experience its rich culture, taste its delicious food, and meet more people who are passionate about coffee.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I’m passionate about traveling and exploring new cultures. I enjoy dreaming, as I firmly believe that dreams can come true, turning the impossible into possible.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
I thank God for this great opportunity and the blessing He has given me.
I am grateful to my family, and every single person who has trusted in my journey.
I also want to thank my company and my team, La Reserva Coffee, for the knowledge and experiences that have allowed me to reach where I am today.
