Please tell us a little about yourself:
Hi my name is Rebeca, my friends call me Beca. I currently work as Head Roaster at Nomad Coffee, we are specialty coffee roasters based in Barcelona, Spain.
I have been working with coffee for 10 years, I started as a Barista and over the years what started as a hobby became my profession.
I have loved coffee for as long as I can remember, I was born in Venezuela and we have consumed coffee there since we were kids.
I have always been passionate about gastronomy and smells, yes, fun fact, I love to smell everything, I think that has helped me to create a very curious sensory register haha.
What are you excited to do while you are in Houston?
Meet some passioned people of the industry, make coffee friends, drink much coffee and hopefuly win the championship.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I really like the food and the process of mixing flavors.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
I really want to thank my grandmother for giving me the passion for good flavors, and my team Fran for guiding me and teaching me all the secrets of the good coffee roasting process.
