Blommers Coffee Roasters
Please tell us a little about yourself:
I work at Blommers Coffee Roasters, a close-knit team that has been together for nearly a decade. I’ve been competing for many years and won the Dutch AeroPress Championship in 2018, as well as the Dutch Brewers Cup Championship twice in a row, in 2024 and 2025. Competing pushes me to innovate and refine my precision while providing a great platform to share ideas and insights with a broader coffee community.
What are you excited to do while you are in Jakarta?
It will be my first time in Jakarta and Indonesia as a whole. I’m always inspired by exploring different coffee cultures, seeing both the similarities and differences compared to what we do in the Netherlands. My team and I will also visit producers and their farms, experiencing the bigger picture of what Indonesia has to offer in coffee.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Anything food-related, from making sourdough and brewing kombucha to selecting proper knife ware and diving into traditional tea ceremonies. There are so many parallels between these worlds and coffee, each helping me understand the bigger picture just a bit better.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
My wife, who is always incredibly supportive. Whether it’s sensory input, logistics, or moral support, I can always rely on her. Her attention to detail is second to none.
