2026 WBrC Grinder Procedure

As the World Brewers Cup (WBrC) continues to grow as a global platform for innovation in manual brewing and sensory excellence, the competition continues to evolve alongside it. With brewers pushing the boundaries of technique, storytelling, and flavor year after year, consistent, professional equipment standards are essential to supporting performance at the highest level.

Beginning with the 2026 season, the World Brewers Cup introduced standardized grinder use across both Compulsory and Open Service, supported by the newly announced 2026–2029 Qualified Filter Grinder Sponsor, OPTION-O.

The newly released WBrC Grinder Procedure outlines how grinders will be provided, configured, and managed throughout the competition. All provided grinders will be prepared to the same factory specifications, equipped with seasoned 102 mm burrs, and cleaned and reset between competitors, ensuring fair and repeatable conditions for every performance. Competitors who choose to bring their own grinders may do so, provided they meet the same approved model and configuration requirements and are inspected onsite prior to competition, compliant with the 2026 WBrC Grinder Procedure.

As the competition grows, these updates reinforce WBrC’s commitment to world-class conditions that allow brewers from around the globe to perform at their best and continue shaping the future of specialty coffee. These procedures reflect the broader evolution of WBrC as it aligns with equipment standards used across other World Coffee Championships, supporting consistency, fairness, and transparency while maintaining space for creativity and innovation.
