Please tell us a little about yourself:
I’m an Emirati barista, coffee sommelier, coffee producer at @FincaRasha in Panama, and the founder of @TheEspressoLab.
My love for coffee began in my grandmother’s Majlis at the age of nine, learning the rituals of traditional Arabic coffee. Years later, discovering specialty coffee opened my eyes to a whole new world one driven by precision, passion, and endless curiosity.
I started competing in 2015 with one goal: to challenge myself and proudly represent the UAE on the world stage. Competition pushes me beyond my limits. It sharpens my craft, deepens my understanding, and constantly reminds me why I fell in love with coffee in the first place.
Alhamdulillah, over the years I’ve been fortunate to win national championships and take my journey even further upstream becoming a coffee producer at @FincaRasha, working hands-on from farm to cup.
Fun fact: before dedicating my life to coffee, I built my career in Cyber Security and Information Security so yes, precision is part of my DNA.
For me, coffee isn’t just a beverage. It’s agriculture, science, culture, discipline, and storytelling in every cup.
What are you excited to do while you visit Brussels?
I’m really excited to experience Brussels not just as a competitor, but as a coffee professional and curious traveler. Belgium has such a strong culture of craftsmanship, from chocolate to brewing traditions, and I’m always inspired by how different cities express precision and artistry.
I’m looking forward to exploring local specialty coffee shops, connecting with the Belgian coffee community, and learning from their approach to roasting and brewing.
And of course, enjoying great coffee with authentic Belgian chocolate.
Most importantly, I’m proud to represent the UAE on this global stage and share our story from farm to cup.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Beyond coffee, I’m driven by curiosity, growth, and the discipline of building things that last. I’ve always been passionate about technology, strategy, and creating systems that make a real impact. My background in cybersecurity shaped the way I think structured, focused, and always looking at the bigger picture.
I enjoy traveling and learning from different cultures, not just as a visitor but as a student of excellence. I’m inspired by craftsmanship in all its forms architecture, design, innovation, and people who dedicate themselves to mastery.
More than anything, I believe in building something that lasts beyond me a legacy rooted in quality, integrity, and purpose. I’m passionate about inspiring and mentoring entrepreneurs from all over the world, sharing lessons from my journey, and helping others turn vision into reality.
I value reflection, family, and staying grounded. For me, success isn’t just about achievement it’s about impact, longevity, and lifting others along the way.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
I want to sincerely thank every competitor who shared the stage with me. The level of dedication, passion, and craftsmanship was truly inspiring it’s an honor to compete alongside such remarkable talents.
