Please tell us a little about yourself:
I'm a food chemist and coffee roaster with 13 years of experience. I've been competing for 11 years, striving to highlight the quality analysis work done daily behind the scenes of the coffee that each coffee-producing family allows us to showcase in every cup.
What are you excited to do while you visit the WCC city?
Meet other industry professionals, connect with roasters and companies, and discover coffee interpretations from other parts of the world. And see the Manneken fountain, which is the name of the company that has been my home for 10 years.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Learning new things, sharing knowledge, repetition. Microbiology, cooking, film, chess, photography, and cycling are hobbies that always spark my curiosity and motivate me to enjoy cups of coffee in a different way.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
My family and my coffee family, especially Malena Hernandez, my coaches Manuel Díaz, Alberto Song, and Rudy Altamirano. And above all, my Sensei Jose Luis Muñoz, who would be so proud and happy that we made it to this competition.
