Tatsuya Ishibashi, Japan

Connect Coffee

Please tell us a little about yourself:

My name is Tatsuya Ishibashi, and I work at Connect Coffee in Fukuoka, Japan.
I started my journey as a barista seven years ago, inspired by my older brother.
Every day, I strive to serve a delicious cup of coffee and create beautiful latte art.
It is truly an honor to stand on this stage I have admired for so long, representing Japan.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way.
This is my first WLAC, and I’m excited to give it my all and enjoy the experience.

What are you excited to do while you are in San Diego?

I’m excited to experience the coffee culture in San Diego and enjoy the beautiful ocean and atmosphere of the city.
Most of all, I’m really looking forward to meeting so many amazing baristas from around the world.

What are your interests outside of coffee?

I enjoy watching baseball.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank?

I would like to thank Mr. Ando, the owner of Connect Coffee, my supporter Hashimoto, and the friends who practiced with me. I’m also grateful to the people at SCAJ, everyone who helped prepare the practice environment and equipment, my family, and all those who have supported me along the way.
