Hoang Thao, Vietnam
Hoff Coffee Brewers
Please tell us a little about yourself:
For ten years, I have stepped into the coffee industry but never been satisfied with myself. I always allow me to experience different roles, from being a barista, a coffee trainer to a creative drinks expert. I have been a contestant in Latte Art competitions, hand brewing, sensory... as well as a judge, a coach and an event organizer in the coffee field also. Regardless of the position, I always strive to achieve the highest possible results. My ultimate goal is to become an outstanding individual capable of creating economic value for myself and providing tangible benefits to the community.
What are you excited to do while you are in San Diego?
I'm excited to visit San Diego not only just for the competition but also to explore the city's coffee culture. I'd love to visit a few local roasters, try some great food, and spend a little time by the beach. I've heard San Diego is vibrant and full of character so I can't wait to see it.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Outside of coffee, I really enjoy traveling, exploring new places and trying different foods. I also love spending time outdoors and learning about local culture. And most of all, I enjoy connecting with people from different parts of the world. Making new friends is always the best part of every trip.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
I'm deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey.
A special thanks to my coach, Uncle UmPaul, for guiding, pushing, and believing in me every step of the way.
I also want to thank Quin and my husband for their constant support and for always being there when I needed it most.
Finally, I would like to sincerely thank my sponsors who are Simexco, MILKLAB, Boncafé, BeanHop, Blue In Green and CafeShow Vietnam for their trust and support, which have allowed me to prepare with confidence for this stage.
