Please tell us a little about yourself:
I'm currently working in Todo Modo, an independent bookshop which is also a cafe and wine bar. This is my third year competing, I've always been fascinated by it and having the privilege to try participating I discovered I loved it. The things that I like best about competing is meeting lots of amazing professionals in this world. I discovered specialty coffee and filter coffee around eight years ago, while I still was in school. At first I took the coffee just for the caffeine kick, but trying some amazing single origins really changed my mind. After graduating in philosophy I decided to take some courses to became a barista because this' passion for coffee had always been present in my life since it began. After the courses I started working as a barista in a local specialty coffee shop. The first day I managed to drop two cappuccinos and upset way more customers than I care to admit. This is how it started.
What are you excited to do while you are in Jakarta?
I love food just as much as I love coffee, I can't wait to try local food while visiting the city.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I love cooking and eating, finding and trying new recipes and ingredients really make me excited Food plays a really big role in my life. I like playing TTRPG, such as Dungeon & Dragons, and fantasy in general. I like synthesizers and electronic music.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
I'd like to thank Caterina which is my coach and my girlfriend. Sayuri and Natalia, which helped us during the preparation. The amazing "Team Italia", my roasters, all the Florence and Italian coffee community and the sponsors who supported me in my journey.
