Please tell us a little about yourself:
Tom is the undefeated 3-time Australian Brewers Cup Champion, securing the title every year since he began competing in 2023. Based in Melbourne, Australia, he works as a coffee trainer at Code Black Coffee Roasters. With a focus on stripping away the fuss, Tom aims to unlock creativity in brewing, making specialty coffee more intuitive and expressive.
What are you excited to do while you are in Jakarta?
I’m planning to explore Jakarta’s historic areas, indulge in delicious local food like martabak and Indonesian noodles, and check out both traditional and modern cafés to get a feel for the local coffee scene. If you have any food or drink recommendations, let me know!
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I’m interested in psychology, philosophy, arts, and music. In my free time, I enjoy hanging with my dog, Walnut, reading, and mixing music.
