Please tell us a little about yourself:
I am an Ecuadorian barista who has dedicated his career to the art of specialty coffee, always driven by perseverance, passion, and dedication. For approximately eight years, I remained active on the competition circuit, perfecting my technique and learning at every stage of the process. In 2025, that perseverance led me to achieve the title of National Barista Champion, which gave me the honor of representing Ecuador at the World Barista Championships. Bringing my country's name to the world stage has been a dream come true and one of the most significant achievements of my career in the coffee world. Besides barista work, my greatest strength is roasting, a craft to which I dedicate long hours of work with the goal of discovering the best cup profiles from different origins in the country. This constant pursuit of excellence has led me to take care of every detail of the process, with the commitment to offering high-quality coffee, true to its origin and full of character, that proudly represents the work of the producers and the potential of Ecuadorian coffee.
What are you excited to do while you are in Milan?
I've heard that drinking coffee in Milan is a ritual, so I'm excited to learn a little more about this city's coffee culture through the bars of its coffee shops. Of course, I'd also like to learn a little about the city and its cuisine.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Outside of coffee, I love football, whether it's playing with friends or following my favorite teams. I'm also passionate about motorcycles; I really enjoy riding, discovering new routes, and feeling the freedom that only a good bike ride can give you. These are two things that help me unwind and recharge, so I can return to coffee with even more energy.
