Christos Sotiros, Switzerland
Nestle Professional
Please tell us a little about yourself:
I am a seasoned professional in the coffee industry with over 12 years of experience. I have achieved remarkable success, being crowned the Swiss barista champion in both 2023 and 2025, and reaching the semifinals of the World Barista Championship in 2023. Since 2016, I have been an authorized SCA trainer, sharing my expertise and knowledge with aspiring baristas. Additionally, I hold the prestigious titles of Q Arabica grader and CVA trainer. Currently, I lead the coffee capabilities and expertise building for the Nestlé Professional teams in Europe. In this role, I have played a pivotal part within Nestlé's internal network, collaborating closely with the R&D team and the agricultural research center to develop global coffee capabilities and educational programs.
What are you excited to do while you are in Milan?
I am excited to visit Milan for the World Barista Championship to reconnect with fellow competitors and friends from the coffee community, and being back on the world stage is an exciting moment in itself.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Outside of coffee, I am a passionate snowboarding and mountain lover who enjoys traveling and spending quality time with friends and family, all while keeping a list of the places I visit that highlights my food experiences, combining both fine dining and street food.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Nestlé Professional for their continuous support, to my friend and roaster Ennio from Académie du Café in Switzerland, to the local Swiss Chapter, and to my friends and family for standing by my side as I prepared for the World Barista Championship.
