Delikia and Root Café
Please tell us a little about yourself:
I’m the manager of Root Café, barista at Delikia, ambassador for De'Longhi Spain and master barista at Central Lechera Asturiana. My day-to-day life revolves entirely around coffee, and I couldn't be happier! I have been competing in championships for 13 years. At the time, competitions were key to my learning, and today they motivate me because they allow me to be a voice for producers and to highlight all the work that goes into each cup. I grew up in a family-run café, so coffee has always been part of my world. I truly enjoy the little things in life, I’d definitely describe myself as a fun-loving person.
What are you excited to do while you are in Milan?
Honestly, after competing, I’d love to simply enjoy gastronomy.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I’m really into sports overall, and I’m very curious and hands-on with everything related to business.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
If I’m being real, there’s no way I could thank everyone who’s helped make it possible for me to compete at Worlds, but I think I want to dedicate this one to the three Delikia partners who took a chance on me nine years ago.
