Please tell us a little about yourself:
I've been working in coffee for roughly 10 years and have competed 4 times previously to varying levels of success - all in Brewer's Cup. I've always been a competitive person and coffee competitions really allow me to learn at my fastest pace.
What are you excited to do while you visit the WCC city?
I'm super excited to eat fries.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Mostly food and wine/cocktails, but I also enjoy playing video/board games, Formula 1, and intermittent cycling.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
Too many people - my girlfriend Alexa Lee, Claire Wallace, David Rickenback, Roosa Jalonen, Kelvin Lee, Madoka Hiramatsu, the team at Nucleus, and everyone that was kind enough to provide equipment - Orea, Sibarist, ICOSA, Fellow, and Brewed By Hand
What roaster do you currently roast on and how long have you been roasting coffee for?
I've only ever used an IKAWA and a Link. I've only roasted for competitions and am currently really enjoying using the Link, I'd say I've only roasted for roughly 2 months if I'm being generous.
What is your favorite coffee brewing method and why?
I'm currently really enjoying the Orea Baby O. I buy most of my brewers based off of how pretty they look and I really liked the pastel purple colour. I also like fast brewers, I get a lot more control over the final brew with them.
Besides your own competition drink, do you have a favorite cocktail?
Irish coffee
