Please tell us a little about yourself:

I'm a barista, coffee consultant and instructor, living in Brasilia the capital of Brazil. I've been working in the coffee industry for over 8 years, making my way through service operation, education and quality control. In my consulting career, I've been involved with over 20 business all over my country. I've lost count of how many people I've trained in many courses (barista, brewing, sensory skills, etc). I've been competing since 2023. I've been placed 3rd on the national brazilian Barista championship of 2024, and first in some other small competitions in Brazil. My goal for competing is to showcase the work of everyone that made possible I could be up there, as a professional and serving an amazing cup of coffee. I have a son (adolescent!!!!) and a dog. My favourite singer is Eminem and nobody is allowed to speak badly of him in front of me (its also my dogs name). I have nothing against matcha or sugar in your coffee because it's your body and your drink and you are allowed to do whatever you like – nobody knows what is good for you besides yourself. Favourite Zelda game: Majora's Mask

What are you excited to do while you visit Brussels?

Visit the old monuments and castles, things we don't see in Brazil. Also visiting roasteries and cafeterias and getting to know more coffee people.

What are your interests outside of coffee?

Cooking, like anything at all. And cocktail mixology also intrigues me.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?

Everyone in my life. I was made by all the people, good or bad, I've met in my life. But yes, if I'd have to select some to say: my mother and my grandmother, the two women who taught me how to be a decent human being and mostly a GREAT woman. My son, the biggest gift I've ever got. My best friends Guilherme and Camila who always accompany me. And as for the competition: the Sabinos, my coaches, Carol, also my coach, Rodrigo who found and roasted this coffee for me, Patrik for the April brewers and support and the farmers responsible for this amazing coffee: Mazzoco and Lamounier.

What is your favorite coffee brewing method and why?

April brewer and Orea one, because they both give me equilibrium in the cup, highlighting sweetness. The coffee gets more drinkable that way, making it more accessible to anyone who drinks it.

Besides your own competition drink, do you have a favorite cocktail?

Boulevardiers, for alcoholic ones. Non alcoholic: kombucha.
