Where do you work?

I work at Olivo Coffee Culture in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where I’m co-founder Head Roaster and a trainer.

How long have you been competing?

I’ve been competing in coffee competitions since 2012, so over a decade now.

What made you want to compete?

I wanted to challenge myself, push the limits of my skills, and connect with other passionate professionals in the coffee world. Competitions also let me test new ideas and learn constantly.

Any fun facts about yourself?

I’ve won Romania’s Latte Art Championship three times and the Cup Tasters Championship four times. Outside coffee, I’m really into exploring new coffee flavors and experimenting with roasting profiles.

How did you get into the coffee industry?

I started back in 2012, drawn by the craft behind a bar, coffee was the most intriguing for me. I fell in love with the idea that every bean/cup has a story, and every roast can bring it to life.

What are you excited to do while you visit Brussels?

Compete in a beachvolleyball tournament

What are your interests outside of coffee?

Sports, beach volleyball, running

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?

My beautiful wife who supports me since the beginning. Razvan my coach, Manu, Mate, and all the team of Olivo coffee culture.
