Andrew Wong - United Kingdom

Please tell us a little about yourself:

This is my first time competing in the BrC. I’ve always had a passion in brewing coffee more than drinking coffee so I really enjoyed preparing for the this competition.

Drinking beer and trying local cuisines in Brussels.

What are your interests outside of coffee?

Alcohol, tea, and good food.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?

My family, my brother and his wife for helping literally everything in my preparation for BrC. I would also like to thank all my friends who helped along the way, judging friends tasting my coffees and getting the sensory experience great, brewing friends sharing insights on brewing, equipments, and general competition advice. Additionally I would like to thank my sponsor Calico Coffee and bossman Johnny for generously supporting everything and making it financially possible for preparation for the WBrC.

What roaster do you currently roast on and how long have you been roasting coffee for?

I don’t roast coffee, but my brother roasts on a stronghold S2 and link.

What is your favorite coffee brewing method and why?

V60 and April. Simple, classic, and it works really well.

Besides your own competition drink, do you have a favorite cocktail?

Classic negroni from bar termini in London.
