Please tell us a little about yourself:
I’ve been competing for over ten years, and came third in the World Barista Championship 2022. I’m Scottish but work at Assembly Coffee in London. Besides coffee, one of my favourite things to explore from a sensory POV is spirits and this is what drove me to enter CIGS! I’m the first woman to represent the UK at the worlds in this competition.
What are you excited to do while you visit Brussels?
I’ve never been to Belgium, so I’m just excited to explore a new country and culture!
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Probably mostly spent either reading books, or exploring new places to eat or drink
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
YES! Thank you so much to Mark Low and Roosa Jalonen, my coaching duo, for helping me to get this far - and to all the UK coffee community for all of your support!
What roaster do you currently roast on and how long have you been roasting coffee for?
Though I’m not competing in roasting, I am a coffee roaster :) I work as the Head of quality for a coffee company, we roast on Lorings and I’ve been roasting for 6 years.
What is your favorite coffee brewing method and why?
I always go back to my v60 for the clarity and sweetness in the cup it delivers!
Besides your own competition drink, do you have a favorite cocktail?
My go to is usually something whisky forward, like a Rob Roy or a Manhattan
